Beef and Cabbage Pitas

I never got around to posting up the recipe for the beef and cabbage pitas I made from the cabbage I harvested from my garden. These are incredibly easy to make, requiring minimal ingredients and kitchen equipment. All you need is a skillet, some beef, a head of cabbage, and your appetite.
Beef and Cabbage Pita

Beef and Cabbage Pitas
  • 1/2 lb Ground Beef
  • 1 small Head of cabbage
  • 1/4 small Onion
  • 1 teaspoon White sugar
  • Pinch of salt
  • 3 tablespoons Water
  • 1 Pita
Optional:
  • 1 teaspoon Red Pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Sour Cream

Start by cooking your beef in a skillet on the stove. Once cooked, remove it from the pan and drain grease.

The next step is to prepare the cabbage mixture. Slice, core, and shred the cabbage. Add the cabbage, chopped onion, sugar, salt, and (red pepper) to the skillet. Cover and steam for about 20 minutes. Stir this mixture occasionally.

Once the mixture is tender, add the beef back into the skillet and mix it into the cabbage (with sour cream). If you haven't warmed up the pita yet, go put in the microwave for 20 seconds. Divide that in half and stuff full with the beef and cabbage mixture.

I'm going to make these again once I get more cabbage.
Enjoy your meal! If there are any spices you feel would work well with this recipe, don't be afraid to use them.
