Reviving the Garden for 2016 -- Part 2

I had started my garden at the beginning of February for 2016. By the end of the month, most of the seeds had sprouted. I was surprised that most of the onions had not come up, but after some investigation, I think some critters had been digging around my garden.

Ol' 22 Bottling Day

I've come across surface tar
After accumulating enough bottles, it was time to bottle Ol' 22. I mentioned before that there was quite a bit of beer lost after the yeast went crazy and blew off quite a bit of the volume. The line on my bucket went up to where 4 gallons would be. So I'd anticipate getting 40 bottles from this.

Ol' 22 Fermentation Progress


As I had predicted during brew day, I came to find my fermenter in an extremely lively state 2 days later. Yeast and beer had erupted through the blowoff tubing and filled up the jar of airlock fluid. The remaining beer spilled into the containment I had placed the fermenter in. Man did it smell good when I opened the door.

Reviving the Garden for 2016 -- Part 1

With spring weather returning earlier than expected, it was time to get planting started for the year of 2016.

It's time for a new season
