The First Harvest | Container Garden Update Week of June 9, 2019

Now that all the younguns are out of school, peak heat has arrived. Does my garden like it?

My tomato plants certainly do. They have grown a few inches taller from the last time I gave an update. Some of them are flowering too, will get some fruit soon! Orange and pink tomatoes on the menu soon!
The first harvest was this nice sized radish. This was the first time I was successful growing radishes too, so check that off the bucket list.
Arugula is a vegetable. I harvested a few leaves of that. Nice and spicy!
I've thinned out my basil plants because they have gotten a lot bigger. Like some of the tomatoes I've thinned, I'm cloning the basil too.
I had started some sunflower seeds for the #sunflowerchallenge2019, but since I was out of town for the weekend, they ended up dying in the scorching weather. Good news is that all the seeds germinated without any issue so I can restart them.

Finally the grapevines I've got on site here. The cuttings look really good, but the new plants I received this year aren't looking too good. The Zweigelt though is producing fruit so I guess I'll have to keep them safe from the birds....
Remember to stay hydrated and keep your plants watered during the heat!
